Weird shed ?

Hi
About an hour ago Basil looked like he was going to shed again ( top of casque goes opaque ). He sheds very quickly and it's usually all over within 2 hours, start to finish apart from maybe the sneaky bits on the ankles...thin wispy shreds just peeling away.

This is completely different....not seen him be like this before..there is no evidence off any impending body shed at all...he would normally be peeling off his back by now.....it's just his head. It's very thick and looks very waxy / damp....any ideas or is this how big boys start shedding as they leave infancy?

BTW his casque is straight it's the angle of the shot thats all...

Thanks

He thinks it's halloween!

Once veileds start getting older, they don't shed all at once, at least, not always. Sometimes it comes off in patches.

Veileds will shed their head once maybe twice in between body sheds, this is noraml. You will see their head looking kinda grey most of they juvinile age because of the on going sheds. Once they are older the shedding will become more normal.

Ahhh brilliant thanks very much.....this is an adolescent thing then...because he is getting older yes? Only guessing so as it's not happened before.....
Thanks

Lily would shed over a couple of weeks, shedding one section of her body at a time, bless her! Regular as clockwork though - every 3 months - shed time, lol! They do slow down with shedding as they get older and their growth rate slows.
