Wanting out.

So Pasquale is getting very cheeky. He doesn't like when we put our hands in his enclosure but we have noticed he is coming to the doors and trying to open it. So we have been opening the door and letting him come put his head out. He now crawls up on top of the enclosure and goes for the lamps then when you try to grab him he hisses and strikes. Wondering is he just curious or is his enclose to small (he never goes down more then half way). Thoughts??

It looks like your cage is sitting on the floor. I would put it on top of something and get it up higher. See if that helps. The higher he is the less threatened he will feel when you approach his enclosure.

This is quite normal. They are very curious. He may be ready for a bigger cage, I'm not sure how old or big he is, but he definitely does not like being on the floor like that. Chams like to be way up high. When I stand in front of my chams cage, he is looking down at me from his basking spot. If you could put his cage up high and then maybe a small tree or big plant next to his cage, he may just come out onto that instead of the top of the cage where it's dangerous due to lights.

Acctually it's not on the floor. It's on a table. But we are eye level.

I hung my enclosure from the ceiling. My chameleon like being as high as she can get. When I let her out, she eventually goes to the drapes, climbs to the top and sits there all day until I get her.

How do feed and water. Climb a ladder??

Okay, so it doesnt look too low but if you can get it a little higher he'll appreciate it. If not thats okay. I stacked my cage on top of his old cage and both are on a table. I can reach the top but he's still up very high. He's outgrown this enclosure so I got him a new one but that will also be on a tall table. 1457139039960.jpg
