Vitamin a

I don't know how you know that your chameleon is getting enough vitamin A...and I doubt that anyone other than a vet who can give you an exact answer.

What I can tell you is that if the chameleon is given beta carotene (a precursor to vitamin A...aka prOformed vitamin A) its not possible to overdose it. The body converts it as needed. However its controversial as to whether any/all chameleons can convert it.

Then there is prEformed vitamin A...its ready to go and when ingested goes straight to work. Any excess will be stored and can build up in the chameleon and lead to organ damage, etc. Excess prEformed vitamin A may prevent the D3 from doing its job and push the chameleon towards MBD. You need to be very careful with the prEformed vitamin A.

Forgot to mention vet said he needed little bit not sure about the vet he did no blood work and he did not look at poop just opened his mouth took temp and then he said he needed vitamin a

What supplements do you use SPECIFICALLY? How often for each? What SPECIFICALLY do you gutload/feed your insects with?

If the chameleon isn't getting any from any other source it might be okay to give it a tiny little bit.

Did he say why he thought it needed it??

No he did not it took less than 5 min of looking at him to say that I cut load crickts with cricket food I get at pet store and I don't gut load worm

I asked you to be specific about the supplements and what the insect get so I could tell if they have any prEformed A in them which would give me a better idea as to whether your chameleon needs any or not.
