Veiled Handling

How can I get my veiled chameleon to feel comfortable with me? He’s around 7
-8 months old and has only been in my care for a little but he gets so scared anytime I get near him. I heard hand feeding gets them to trust you but I’m far too uncomfortable with his food to do so. Is there anything else I can do?

When I get close he opens his mouth to hiss, does t-rex hands, and generally just never gets close to my hand.

If you are comfortable with this, hand feed your chameleon with bugs on your hands/arms. Place your hands toward the chameleon. But not too close.

Use wax worms. These do not bite and are a favorite treat bug.
