Just got my Chameleon today, he is a male around 4-5 months old. Are these brown spots normal or stress colors?

Welcome to the forums and congrats on your new chameleon. He's probably a little stressed his first day in his new home. Is he eating and drinking? Give him a few days to settle in. I am attaching my blog for new keepers to help you keep your little one health and happy.

More great in for here: https://www.chameleonforums.com/care/chameleons/

I put some crickets in his cage but I don't think he's eaten any. I sprayed his cage earlier, and he moved from his basking spot to the leaves but I didn't see him drink any.

Are the brownish spots on him normal?

Yes, the brown spots look ok. Be sure to remove any crickets that he didn't eat. Crickets can eat on your chameleon at night while he's sleeping.

one more quick question. I have his lights on a timer, and I have his lights set to turn off at 9 PM and turn back on at 8:45 AM is that a good setup?

They pretty much like to stay with the outside light. Here in FL mine get up at 8 am and go to bed at 5:30 to 5:45 in the winter. In the summer it's 8 am to 8:30 to 9:00 pm.

I haven't seen him drink when I've misted him yet, but I saw him eat a cricket a little bit ago.:D
