Alright....this thread is for Chad. You wanted to see some pics of my uros, you got 'em (although this is just a sampling since I was not able to get good pics of the U. Phantasticus or U. Ebenaui). I had a massive cleaning day this weekend and was able to get some decent ones (by my standards). And no poking fun of my less-than-stellar pics either. I am not as cool as Ryan with his new box.

Up first are the U. Lineatus. They have to check the place out after it gets cleaned (although you wouldn't know it with the water stains on the glass ...)

Thanks! The uroplatus are are great group of geckos to work with. It takes work for them to thrive and reproduce, but the reward is totally worth it (I think Luis can back me up on this...) I have really enjoyed working with them.

Luis, you suck. And I mean that in the nicest way. I could have sworn my female fimb. was ready to lay about a month ago. She must have reabsorbed them.

It's ok. I had a henkeli who became gravid in October who never laid the eggs. I could see the eggs bulging out of her side and counted three. One problem with my female henkeli's though, is they lay them later in the morning than the lineatus do. I've caught my lineatus laying a few times now, but this girl doesn't begin until just before the lights come on. I disturbed her digging her spot once and despite my begging and pleading, she decided to reabsorb them instead. Well, all but one dud. Uroplatus aren't the easiest to breed, that's for sure.

I used half a lemon to clean Amy's glass yesterday (as recommended by Fidel) and it worked a treat - all the limescale/watermarks came off!

Well, Luis and I differ a little in our set ups and they can vary, so long as they have the essentials. Although, if you want to breed, then you have to have things just right for them to do so, as as you heard Luis just say, it is difficult to get uros to lay eggs (and another thing getting them to hatch out altogether). I personally have used the largest Zoo Med glass terrariums (the ones with just one door that opens in the front) for the larger uros such as lineatus and fimbriatus. These guys need a lot of space so I would suggest housing only 1.1 or, at the most 1.2 in one of those. I have live plants and magnetic ledges in all of my uro cages. The fimbriatus have a full bark background and lots of bark going different directions. The lineatus have plenty of bamboo (you can see in my previous pictures) as that's where they live in the wild. My sikorae I keep a couple pairs in a large glass enclosure/screen top that was made by glasscages.com and there is a lot of bark in there as well for climbing (and blending in). With the smaller ones, like the ebenaui and phantasticus, they are a little easier with space. I use a smaller Zoo Med terrarium with plenty of plants and sticks for climbing. They all have a larger water intake and I use the glass to keep a higher humidity. There's more to it, but that's it in a nutshell.

Yes, they have a very "clean" look to them, don't they? But I think they tie for first with the u. sikorae and u. phantasticus. The u. lineatus are very inquisitive and can sure pounce!

I think the Gesang's sikorae are closer than mine for you to pilfer.

Until just recently I wasn't even aware you kept Uroplatus. I feel so stupid for not noticing this portion of your collection. They are fabulous. Your glass looks like my house windows. I have a herd of cats that put nose and paw prints on the glass constantly. Plus our lovely weather on the outside. Beautiful pictures Julie......geckos are fascinating!
