I picked these babies up at petco yesterday or should I say Rescued them. The set up they had was not at all what I expected being a pet store and the worse thing was that they had a pretty deep water dish full of water for them to drink from...I could go on but I'll be nice...Anyway, here's a couple pics of the new babies!

Don't be surprised at the pet shop's ignorance. This happens all the time with many other species too. Amazing in these days of e-forms and breeder websites available at the click of a mouse. I am always surprised that breeders don't offer good care information to the shops when they buy the animals, but maybe they don't care or the information is simply ignored.

Unfortunately by "rescuing" them from a bad situation you have also encouraged the PetCo to keep selling them...in the same bad setup. We've all done it so we can sympathize, but the harsher more effective way to send the message to big box pet shops like this is to refuse to buy animals who are not kept correctly.

Most pet shops have no clue how to care for exotics like chams and they pass on their carelessness or ignorance to customers. The animals unlucky enough to fall into newbie hands end up sick and dying. This is not only cruel, but just adds to the ammunition AR groups are using to get our hobbies banned because animals end up suffering.

So, take good care of your little ones, appreciate them, and give them a good life. I would tell the store you will not buy anything from them in future.

I didn't even think about that...I was able to give a mini lesson on their set up and what they were doing wrong so I hope that if they do get more, they at least take my advice...And I did get two of the cutest little veils so I am very happy and happy to say, they are doing very well and eat like theres no tommorow...I don't think they had drank any water for quite awhile as they didn't realy know how to get any but they have the hang of it now. I also have no age of them either. They are so very tiny...
Its too bad they don't have regulations on exotics because all these precious animals go to homes that like you said have no idea how to care for them...
