too hot or too cold?

Ok,so everyday I'm having to deal with temps jumping all around.Sometimes in the morning, when I wake up,it can be as low as the low 60's in her cage.Other times I'll get home from work and find the temp to be in the high 90's.So,which would be worse for her?

P.S. shes a 3 month old panther chameleon, not sure she is small since this my first cham, but is like 5 inches long

I am assumming you have a good, accurate digital thermometer. Your lows are too low and your highs are too high for a baby. What kind of bulb are you using for a heat source?

Yes I do have a accurate themometer, but I only using a 60 watt bulb for her basking spot.So do you have any ideas that would help with kepping a temp at a steady spot?well really I've never seen it go below 65 degrees

For a baby that young I would keep it as close to 70 as possible for a low. How big is your cage and what is the placement of your heat lamp?

te cage is 15 inchx24 inchx30 inch and the light is off to one side and in a heat fixture,so about 4 inches from the top

Well-it sounds like your house temp is dropping quite a bit at night and heating up quite a bit during the day? You will need to move the basking spot up a bit to get temps around 82, no higher than 85 in the daytime, and maybe a very low wattage ceramic heater to keep the temps from dropping too much at night. It does take some tweaking!
Makes me glad I live in Florida with a steady house temp of 72-74 degrees year round.

thanx but is that heat lamp for night use?I was told I would'nt need one.would a regular heater close to the cage work as well?thats wat I'm doing.and yeah I know it should be at 85 at daytime and ten degrees drop at night.I do keep a close eye on it when I have days off. Also when i say everyday I mean that only on weird days when it is cold in the morning and hot during the day, which is maybe two tomes out of the week. Can she deal with that?
