Time for my big announcement!

She is here!

I have a beautiful young female Ambilobe, from Punkin and Spock, bred by our very own Reptoman at Crazy Eyes Chams. She is absolutely beautiful, hatched 4th February, 2012, and a little small for her age. So far she seems a bit in awe of her enormous enclosure (24x24x48 mesh with plexiglass door) so I'm giving her time to chill out and settle in.

I don't have any good photos because my camera is still recovering will being full of Hudson river water, but I improvised with my webcam, just so Laurie doesn't kill me! I've also attached a couple of pics that Reptoman sent me.

I would never kill you! Maybe beat you until I see pictures, but that beautiful girl needs her Mommy. Brian's pictures are a bit better than yours ( lol) but even your pictures show she is lovely. We do have some chams that grow up on the forum, in pictures. I do hope your little angel will be one of those.:)

Congrats and enjoy

I hope so too! She just ate 3 small dubias from a cup, can't believe she's eating already! She's making it clear at the moment that her enclosure should be higher, about another 6 feet off the ground would do her nicely...

yay! you finally got one. i knew you were going to get a panther. :D:D:D

Just had to get over my need to have something a bit 'different'! But a panther just made sense, and Brian had the perfect girl for us. She's small for her age (those marks are 1/2" and that's a recent photo) so it won't be good for her to breed, so she is going to have a wonderful hassle-free life with us!

She's so stinkin! cute!!!!!! :D

Do you have a name yet? I've had my little boy for a few days now and I'm still trying to pick the perfect one. I may go with "Leezardo DaVinci!" LOL

Here is our name discussion, I can see it taking a while to decide:

[11:39:42 EDT] Trillian: What do you think about names?
[11:39:52 EDT] Hubbles: I love them
[11:39:56 EDT] Hubbles: I have several myself
[11:40:24 EDT] Trillian:
[11:40:35 EDT] Trillian: I like Myrtle.
[11:41:11 EDT] Hubbles: But Myrtle is only a name for a turtle
[11:41:23 EDT] Hubbles: Or a miserable ghost
[11:41:32 EDT] Trillian: True...
[11:41:40 EDT] Trillian: But it's also a nice name and a chameleon-safe vine.
[11:41:57 EDT] Hubbles: Ah...
[11:42:09 EDT] Trillian: Ivy?
[11:42:19 EDT] Trillian: Because she climbs?
[11:44:45 EDT] Hubbles: Ivy the Chameleon? It's just wrong
[11:44:54 EDT] Hubbles: Climby the Chameleon, that's better
[11:45:17 EDT] Trillian: She's rarely going to use her full name, we don't introduce the girls as Izzy the Human and Abi the Probable Human.
[11:45:39 EDT] Hubbles: You might not...

wow that was a very confusing coversation:confused: But u and ur husbands are hilarious

I am thinking maybe the girls should work on a name. Kids can come up with really great names. I personally like it when they name them after a favorite toy, but not after tv character, please no pascal, or the other movie Cham. David named our transvaalense Hans and Sophia since they are from Germany. One of my grandsons named one of my dragons pig. That would confuse everyone when we were talking.
You could name her Heidi since she wants to be high up?

:D She could have many names, or at least on big full title. I call my cham Oliver BUT his name is Doctor (from Doctor Who) Oliver Emrys von Sherlock Jekyll Fírnen. :p:p And i have a reason behind each of them too:)

Or penny? She's so pretty and pick and adorable like a little fuzzy pig xD but ;) cuter

Wow!!! She's absolutely gorgeous :). Many congratulations.

Angie and I name everything - mr chirpy the cricket, gigantor the silkworm, big daddy the locust. No hope for us :)

Congrats! She is such a little cutie pie! I had a whole list of names for Amy (most of them meaning Lily after my first cham), but my daughter suggested Amy and it stuck! I also had a long list of names before I got Monty too, but none of them suited when I got him! My first crestie was called beanie all the way home, until I held him and he jumped from one hand to the other - 'Splat'! That's his name, lol!

Lucky you, she's a little pink beauty :) Take your time on the name, when you have a good one for her you'll know :)
