Thoughts on putting cham in old Chams cage

So I have a cage completely set up with plants, substrate, branches etc for my cham, but he's starting to outgrow it and is almost ready for his permanent free range. Would I be able to put another cham in his cage, or would it need a thorough cleaning? The cage wasn't exposed to any illness or parasites. I mean is it much different than letting different Chams share outdoor/indood free ranges?

Also, does this mean i should not let my chams share the same branches and plants on their outdoor free range? (Not at the same time obviously)

I would not share until you get fecals on both.

Normally I clean with 40 to 60 volume peroxide mixed 50/50 with hot water. It's the kind of peroxide you buy at a beauty supply store such as Sally's. That kind of peroxide kille everything even cociddia. I spray it on and let it sit for awhile and you can see it bubbling and working. Rinse VERY well and let all your cage stuff sit in the sun for hours afterwards and don't put your new chameleon in the cage for a couple days.

I actually have some, but haven't used it yet. I normally just use a strong chlorhexidine solution to spray things down. Can the H2O2 be used on plants? I had a fecal done on my first cham, but I should get it done for my other. If everything's good is sharing okay then?

I might just skip the cage and go straight to the free range, @jannb you're known for your free ranges, do you keep young chams on them even? All safety precautions, lighting, humidity, temp, etc are in place.

The H2O2 is safe for plants, it works really really well and all I do is rinse it very very very well with warm water and let it air dry.

How long has it been since the fecal on your first cham? Definattly get one on you new chameleon and if both are clean and healthy sharing will be ok. You should always quarantine any new cham you get until you make sure all is ok with him/her.

Quarantine is one thing I slack on, I just am not able to keep reptiles all over the house. I have 2 cats and not a whole lot of room as it is. So I can keep them from sharing, but not in separate rooms. I talked to a pretty well known breeder(didn't even purchase from them) and they said that it should be fine. Quarantine was one of my main concerns about having multiple chams.

Hi there if your going the developer route . Developer comes10, 20 ,30, 40 ,60 , and 100 Val . 20 % developer has 6 % Peroxide , 40% Dev has 12% peroxide 60val has 18 % Peroxide . Half developer half water will dilute the peroxide by half . Hot water slows the peroxide action . I would pick a higher level developer .
