thats what I do. I would just wash with some soapy water, let dry out and check for any insect infestation. Some people bake them. I don't, but that would be up to you if you can fit them in your oven.
I only use free branches/vines. Its the only way to go! Just use common sense.
If the branch is to brittle to support the chams weight, dont use it.
I look for signs of burrowing type insects like holes and such, just so I dont introduce some weird pest, or poisonous insect into the enclosure.
I just give them a quick blast of water and pop them in there.
just so they are dry. I just wipe them with a towel and then of course I have the good ole florida sunshine to help too! yep, just plain old dish soap is what I use!
i love putting tree branches, especially when you find ones with cool shapes. it depends on where you got the brach from if i got it from some public place i wash it twice in two days and if its from the wild i just do it once just to be safe. yes i know what you mean tree branches from pet stores are super expensive! haha
