In doing my research, I never read anything about them and possible compaction.

Compactions not my panther's problem. He pushes plugs out 2 or 3 times a week. Is that normal? He is roughly 6 months old and appears to be in great health.

Second question - I measured him today and he is about 14 inches, is that a good size and about right for his age? He never seems as big as everyone else's pics unless he is angry then he looks pretty thick.

Sounds like your boy is ready to breed. Leaving his DNA behind like that as often as he does is perfectly normal. It means he is maturing. It means he is ready to date......The size seems normal to me too. He's going to continue to grow until he's well over a year in age. RELAX!!!!
