not sure if any of you are familiar with blender, which is a free, 3d modeling and animation program. i am an avid user, and i can make just about anything in 3d (yes, i am working on a chameleon). i started an architectural project of a delux horse stable that i could have had money offered for, had about 10 hours into that thing, almost had the basic modeling done, and BAM! "blender failed to read blend file" -.- wont open anymore. and if i try and open it right from the documents window, it crashes the program. i am seriously ready to break down some walls. i have seriously worked soo hard on this...and it vanishes in thin air. ive contacted customer support to see if theres some way to even recover part of the file..but i doubt it :( im soo upset.

dang..... im so sorry!! hopefully the program will start working right so you can get what you need back!

ive spent hours like that drawing up blue prints in my vocational school for construction. only to have someone take or steal them, i know how you feel :/

google sketchup :) its free and simple..go to google...type in sketchup, download and tada! its alot more simple than blender..blender takes awhile to learn :/

girl love it gotta get to the hose now for exact measurements on house and property buut yeaaaaa neat as hell.

thats great! a couple months ago my mom bought a HDTV software disc for $150 for designing houses and stuff..i showed her sketchup and she returned the software XD

Blender is quite "famous" for this. I've learned to save and backup religiously due to this very issue. More recently I've decided to switch to Modo and create animations in Blender. Modo really is an amazing program and well priced!

Sorry to hear you got "bit" as well. :(
