Silkworms arrived!!!

My order of 30 silkworms arrived today!!

Unfortunately they're too small to feed them to Simba at the moment so I just put 5 gutloaded and dusted locusts in there for him today.

Made up the mulberry chow (that stuff stinks when its in the microwave!!)

Transferred the worms to a new container onto the piece of plastic netting that came with the order (VERY HANDY!!)

Fatten em up over the next few days n then see if his royal highness fancies some

Glad you managed to get some silkworms. Just so you know in future, you don't need to make up the whole bag of chow at once. I use 2 tablespoons at a time and mix it to a thick paste with boiling water. But, yeah, it still stinks, lol! I have to make mine in the conservatory now as the family complain when I do it in the kitchen! My daughter is disgusted enough when I clean the worms out, lol! The things we do for these chameleons, and are they ever grateful?!

Am I the only one to think the chow smells nice? It's like a nice herbal smell!

I just followed the instructions received with the chow powder. Only 100g bag so just a small container of chow made up.

Reckon I'll need plenty chow to get these big enough for Simba!!

Thanks for the tip for making it up though, I'll just use the kettle for the next batch

I don't know how anyone can think it smells nice!! LOL

Simba wasn't interested in the locusts, I wonder if he's gone off them????

Took them out so they don't bother himduring the night.

Will try again tomorrow or Thursday. He had a real belly full on Sunday so he might not be hungry.
