shaking cham

hey guys when my chameleon walks he shakes in the legs alot and when he is basking he sits really low almost resting all his weight on the vine what could this mean??

what do you mean by shaking? When they walk they have a jerking motion to mimic moving leaves and such. When my chameleon basks it sometimes rests like yours does but most of the time it tilts to one side to expose more surface area to the heat source.

Hope is not MBD, but the signs can means your cham has it. Fill up the 'how to ask help' form and you can get more info

yea I know the do that but this is different this is almost like an old guy walking with a cane shaking.

Can you post some pictures please?

Ill see what I can do on pictures.

alright guys I just had kaos out for some sun and I'm really starting to worry about him. His shaking is getting worse and I'm not sure whats going on I'd like to find out so I can begin helping him get better. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. He has
5.0 UVB
65 wat basking light temp is 85 right this second
I use Rep-Cal multivitamins
Fluckers cricket quencher and high calcium
I have had him for one month now he is 4 months of age
cage 2'x2'x4'

what am I doing wrong????!!!!

He needs a d3 and calcium supplement. Get some Repcal calcium without d3 and one with d3. You also need to gutload with some veggies and fruit, not just the flukers dry gutload. I would use some romain lettuce, collard greens, and sweet potatoes.

alright thank you very much!!!:)
i for got to say I use lettuce and other veggies.
Ill get right on the D3 what schedule should I use??
He also gets 5+ hrs of sunlight a week.

You're welcome :) Use the d3 and multivitamin supplements twice a month each. The calcium w/o d3 should be used throughout the week and dust with the d3 and multivitamins on every sunday.

Could you fill out the full form instead of just half?

Get him as much natural sunlight as possible before and after you take him to the vet. This will help him a lot.

YOu need a calcium supplement that is D3 free, which you dust with almost every feeding. Use multivitamins 1 to 2 times a month and calcium with D3 1 or 2 times a month.

Lettuce is not really a great choice to gutload with. Try using lots of different veggies and fruits like squash, collard greens, mustard greens, endive, kale, kelp, bok choy, melons, apples, oranges etc. Flukers products are also junk, IMO. Steve Sims makes a great gutload called cricket crack. I would suggest purchasing some off him. Its cheap and loaded with goodies!!

Nope I got the info I was looking for. Maybe if some one else had asked. Thank you though.
Right, and what is that supposed to mean? Someone else? I'm sure.. Edit to add: You may have the info you are looking for, but you may not have all the info you need.
There are obvious things that could use improvement and help.. but... looks like we can only help you as much as you want us to.

OK, adding calcium and the like will be an improvement. Who's to say there aren't other issues lurking as well? The purpose of the form is to give members a well rounded view of your cham, feeding, supplementing, husbandry etc, not just specific parts. You may have a partial answer now, to make sure you are receiving everything you need, you may want to consider filling out the form in its entirety. Thank you.

Alright but I have gotten all the info I need the vet told me exactly what every one on here did. Thats why I was sure to thank every one for their time. Turns out my buddy's mom is a vet really big help there.

But that doesn't make sense, you only said you got the info you needed a minute after you made this post..

I am going to take him as soon as I get paid. Thank you every one your answers and time are appricated.:)

I think what Syn is trying to get across is that, If you didn't know that you needed to supplement with calcium (very basic knowledge) and you're also gut-loading with Lettuce, then there might be more that you could be improving on, not to say you're doing anything wrong, but if everyone is willing to help you, you should at least be willing to fill out the form.

By the way, how do you know that there isn't anything in the other half of the form you didn't fill out that may be contributing to the shaking? Just playing devils advocate here : P
