Panther chameleon acting strange

Hello friends!! It’s been awhile since I’ve posted as all has being doing well with my chams. Except this winter is proving to be giving me some problems. Boris is my apprx 1.5 yo M panther chameleon who I posted about earlier when I first joined the forum. Lately he has been resisting meals and insisting on leaving his enclosure. He seems to be hydrated and in good health overall. He’s very active during the day and basks regularly in between patrolling his enclosure. My only concern really is the lack of eating. It’s been about three weeks and the only thing I could get him to enthusiastically eat was a hornworm. I was able to trick him into eating some silk worms last week but this week nothing. He lives in a 36x18x36 hybrid enclosure. I use a 6% Arcadia UVB and a I believe 50-60w halogen bulb for basking. Basking spot usually gets about 90-92 degrees. I will post a pic of his enclosure. I feel like this post is already super long so if there is any other information needed from anyone willing to give advice just let me know what you need to know! Thank you all so much in advance !

You may want to consider buying a bigger enclosure (4 foot by 2 foot by 2 foot is what the Chameleon Forums recommends for an adult male Furcifer pardalis) . Boris looks to be an adult Furcifer pardalis and in an enclosure that should be a grow out enclosure for a young male Furcifer pardalis. Boris maybe stressed because of a lack of space and may be causing a decrease in his appetite.

Best Regards

This was my best guess honestly. I think he’s just a big guy now and needs his space. I will get him a bigger house and see if this helped with his angst! Thanks for confirming my thoughts!

As panthers get older they only need to be fed every 2-3 days if you are offering everyday it may be too much.
I do agree to about upgrading his mansion 😉 he will probably thank you by not wanting to come out anymore. Lol
