Safe paint for self made viv background

Hi,
I have just upgraded my chameleons screen Vivarium to a bigger size and due to ready made backgrounds being so expensive we have researched how to make our own.
The problem I’m having is what safe paints I can use to paint it that wont be toxic and will also be safe for misting!!
We have MDF and expanding foam for the effect which many sites have said are safe. Again it’s just the paint.
I’m from the Uk so any information on safe UK brands would be helpful.
Thanks

I would use flex seal for the paint. you have to still let it gas off for about 48 hours but it works really well. But it is a liquid rubber. They make it in a spray or a paint on version. I believe colors are limited to clear, white, and black. But this has been successfully used in many enclosures without deterioration.

You can use the clear Flex Seal on top of regular paint or use the Flex Seal colors as is. They also have colors like red, green, blue, brown, etc.
