We don´t have those over here. so i wonder what could be use that is high in calcium and low in oxal accid for the bulk of the gutload? I read that nettle is a good choise?

Mustard greens are good, arugala, radicchio, Tuscan kale is the best kale to use... carrot tops, celery tops (trying to remember all that I feed XD)

How about dandelion, mustard, endive or kale? Are you able to find those. I also use carrot and fruit.

we have dandelion under a certain time of the year. growing wild sort of speak.

we do have kale. but I thought it was high on oxal acid. and it should not be given in large amounts. special for mountain species?
I Think we may have arugula. isn´t radiacchio high in oxal accid?

Btw when you say carrots. do you are meaning the carrot isself and not the sprouts right?

Yes, I thinly slice or grate the carrots and give a variety of greens.

That looks like romaine in the link. Check out sandrachameleons blogs for addition information. She was great with all this.

Oxalates are not something to worry about as long as you feed a variety of thing regularly. That's the whole point. And certain types of kale are lower in oxalates, that's why I recommended Tuscan. Tuscan is usually the best for that.
