We completed a new software upgrade yesterday that includes dozens of new features. I'm going to introduce a few of the major changes in this thread and leave the rest for everyone to discover on their own. Over the next couple weeks we will be working on getting things back to normal and improving certain design elements.

If you have any questions feel free to post here or use the feedback forum.

Push Notifications

Push notifications are now available for compatible browsers and devices. This feature can be customized in your account settings and is turned off by default. Unfortunately, Safari on macOS and all iOS-based browsers are currently incompatible. They don't yet support the required APIs. On supported devices enabling push notifications will look similar to the image below. There are options to customize when you receive alerts and push notifications. You may want to get forum alerts for everything but only be notified by your browser for things you find especially important.

Reactions

The like system at Chameleon Forums has been converted to a reaction system. You are probably already familiar with similar systems on social media.

Likes have been used in various ways at Chameleon Forums and that will continue. Below are the values for each reaction. Notice that 3 of the reactions are considered neutral and won't increase a member's like count. Also notice that no reaction negatively affects a member's like count.

The term reaction score will sometimes be used instead of like count.

Bookmarks

Have you ever read a post and wanted to interact with it later, or perhaps find a great thread you wanted to archive for use as a future resource?
Say hello to Bookmarks.

Supported content types now have a bookmark icon.

Clicking a bookmark icon will instantly bookmark that content. Which is great, but occasionally you may want to add some additional context to help you locate that bookmark again in the future.

Your bookmarks at Chameleon Forums can be accessed on every page. A full list is also available on your account page.
