so a 2x2x4 foot cage?

hmmm.... how much tiime does he spend on the ground?

maybe thats what he is doing, he goes really close then gets too hot then goes down to cool. could the cage be too cool that he wants to get closer then over heats?

from what ive seen at least 50% if not more

I have no idea what he is doing.

if the temp really is 86, he shouldnt be overheating

try.... getting another basking lamp, and getting 2 lower watt bulbs. place on lamp on each side of the top of the cage, put your uvb down the middle, and see if thise helps.

well where i put the branch for him to bask is 86 but he seems to be climbing up the wall to get closer, i have moved the lamp a little more central now.

great news!!! i haven't seen carletto at the bottom of his cage at all today! and i even saw him eat a meal worm! he must have been a little disorientated in his new home!
