Possible fungal infection in Ficus benjamina

So recently over the past two weeks I’ve been noticing white speckling on two of my ficus trees that I have had for a year or so. The leaves are now showing white speckling along with a sticky substance on the leaves.

I believe this to be a fungal infection of some sort and after googling I am banking on this being some form of mildew related issue. I am hoping someone on these forums would have some form of insight on what may be occurring with my plants and if they have any safe suggestions on treating these plants.

IME it usually comes from sap-sucking insects. Their waste is like a sticky residue that attracts ants.

That is an insect called scale. As described above.
