No cham likes to be handled

They are solitary creatures in nature and being handled stresses them.
Most of us would like to handle our chams(other than moving them from indoors to outdoors) but we don't for the sake of the chams.
Too much stress= illness or death.
Jackson's are not easy to maintain, so they are not recommended as one of the first chams to get. Their temperature requirements are different from Veileds and Panthers. If you live in an area with hot summers, you would have to keep the a/c on 24/7 in order to keep one.
Jackson's are a montane chameleon--they come from cooler areas than Panthers and Veileds.
Veileds and Panthers are hardier, but still, the don't handle them rule applies.
Jackson's are typically gentle, but not a starter cham.

Veiled Chameleons are grumpy until you get them out of there cage, but every now and then you will find one with a tame personality. They are really not a hold friendly animal.
