So my current cricket containing method is not up to snuff. It is working, but I would really like to improve it. Would you mind posting pictures, links or descriptions of how you have yours set up?
Thanks
There's of different cricket containing method but here's what my cricket colony looks like lolView attachment 62502
are those water storing crystals they are drinking from? (polyacrylamide?)
No they're not the crystals, I don't put "water" in their cage I give them sweet potatoes, they're loaded with vitamins and much higher vitamin A than carrots. So they get all water from the sweet potatoes and they get to eat kale, collard greens, some carrots and they love oatmeal. I also completely clean the crickets every 3 days religiously or it gets horrendous. Using this method my crickets live they're entire lifespan and get about as big as my thumb and my veiled loves em

I've been very worried about using those because when they start to dry out the crickets could injest the unexpanded form & then the chameleon could eat them and it would expand inside the cham when it drinks??
Not sure if my fear is unfounded or not... any thoughts?
I use the 66 qt sterlite container. I hot glue screen on all 4 sides. The egg crates are cut in half then they are glued together. This allows the crates to stand upright, the poo falls to the bottom, and since the are cut in half the crix cant jump out as soon as i take the lid off
