Bought my Cham a ficus today, but while I was in there I saw a plant that looked like ficus, but on the label it just said 'mixed foliage' has anybody used these? Thanks steve

mixed foliage isnt a type of plant. its just mixed foliage.

got to see the plant to say if you can use it or not.

I can't find a link but it looks the same thing as a ficus or a Schefflera, is there a chance it could actually be 1 of these???

maybe go back to the store and take a pic then post it.

i wouldnt use it till you know for sure what it is.

sounds like your at home depot where they dont label the species by name. just general catagories. there is a book placed somewhere in the garden section that has pictures and species names. I ran into this problem the other day, so I matched the pictures and then used my iphone to look at the safe lists on here and on FLchams.com i ended up getting a Ficus columbiana for like $16. But it was labeled "medium foliage"

I live in the uk nd I was at 'homebase' lol, they don't label all plants but they had some really leafy plants, labelled mixed foliage, they were 2 for £15 which I thought was brill. But like you say it isn't worth the risk if I don't know if it's safe, do I stuck to what I know and got a ficus (weeping fig)

why not google pics of scheffelaras and see if it matches?

all the 2 for 15 quid plants at homemade are good for chams, I've been there a hour ago, got my self a umbrella plant and pothos, bargin

The second people use for frogs a lot, I wouldn't use it I tryed it but it snaps when the chams climb it

Yeah, I weren't too sure whether they were safe or not so I just got a large (ish) ficus for £15, gonna get a couple next week ready for when I get his bigger cage. I didn't c a potshots there, nd to be honest I don't really know what they look like lol,
Just a quick question kev, do you ever take your Cham outside For some sun in the uk?
