Pesticides on Ficus tree

I have a ficus tree i would like to use in my chameleon enclosure. The problem is i know it has had pesticides sprayed on it. By giving the tree a good shower will it be safe for the enclosure? Also, how will the ficus hold up to the showering?

The ficus will do fine in the shower. You need to soap up the plant using antibacterial soap and let it sit for 5 min before rinsing.

Let it dry in the sun for a hour or so and you should be good to go.


EDIT : Don't forget to repot it using organic fertilizer free soil.

You can use any type of soap. I tip my plants over in the bathtub and make it soapy and roll them back and forth.

you could also use a towel or some rocks to place over the soil. I tried repotting once.. apparently i suck at it.
