Panther get crazy mad over the night

I have Panther chameleon 3 years old male.
He is living in good environment and he was never aggressive or frightened before.

Last few days he is getting really angry at night. Instead of sleeping, he has completely crazy colors I never saw before and trying to bite if I put my hand in and try to touch him.
I saw the sperm plug, don't know if that can be the reason of this aggressive behavior. I will try today to put him in some warm water to remove it.

Any ideas for this strange behavior.

Is there something that is disturbing his sleep in the room or cage?
Is it completely dark? Are there lights on, tv, computer, etc?

No, everything is as usual. Nothing changed around him.
