I joined this forum simply to let anyone who has a panther chameleon know not to ever put him or her outside during the heat of the Santa Ana winds in California. Sadly, my husband put ours out one day and I realized he was near death. I put him in a cool bath and saved him. I STUPIDLY put him out again the other day not realizing the Santa Anas were still blowing. I didn't leave him out for long but he was gone when I went outside. I have been sick to my stomach with guilt ever since and wanted to warn anyone who might not have known about this. His coloring had changed to a bright, bright yellow both times he overheated. I am seriously crushed, as we loved this guy.
