Panther Chameleon breeders in Canada

Hi all, first time poster.

I have been doing some research on chameleons for awhile. I am ready to move forward, but I am looking for some input on breeders in Canada. I am looking for a male panther, preferably Ambilobe, Nosy Be or Ambanja.

Here is what I have been able to find so far in Canada:

Simply Chameleons: only Masoala females available at this time

Chameleons Canada:
Has panthers arriving, however I have read of some concerns regarding his source. It looks like he may source directly from Madagascar, and they are potentially wild Chameleons that are not always recommended for first-time owners?

Kammerflage:
Located in the states and may not ship to Canada?

Chronic Chameleons:
Emailed today on availability of panthers.

All Reptiles:
appear to be sold out, didn't see much in way of information, reviews on social media look respectable.

I spoke with someone at Chameleons Canada and was ready to purchase. They were friendly, informative, and prices were respectable. My hesitance came up regarding concerns with Chameleons directly from their country of origin vs. bred in captivity.

Looking for some input or other recommended breeders/feedback. I am located in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Thanks!
Nick

Welcome to the forum.

I think most folks here (perhaps not all) would recommend captive bred for a number of good reasons you've likely already read.

I believe you're correct about importing from the States; there would at least be a lot of paperwork.

There are some threads in the archives regarding panther breeders in Canada:
https://www.google.com/search?q=pan...VBB50JHW3lBaQQrQIoBHoECB0QBQ&biw=1024&bih=636
IDK how current/relevant they are.
There is also a classified section. I don't see any current Canadian ads, but I don't suppose it would hurt to post in the Wanted section.

Some other possibilities might be:
Facebook
https://www.morphmarket.com
https://www.breedir.org/chameleons
https://www.voofla.com/

We have quite a few Canadian members. Hopefully some of them will spot this thread and have some suggestions.

Hey there, really appreciate the reply and link to other threads. This forum had been very helpful in narrowing down some of the breeders I've mentioned. I'll be sure to give those a look as well.

Try Simply Chameleons, or Peach Tree Chamelons. The former works with Masoala, the latter, Ambilobe

Thanks for the suggestions, Simply is doing Masoala females only right now, but I haven't reached out to Peach Tree, I'll try them.

Just got placed in line to select an Ambilobe panther from one of Peach Tree's clutches! Thanks for the info.

Here is a photo of the sire.

Hi Selig!
I'm on the list for a boy from the same sire as yours from Peach Tree Chameleons! Did you end up getting him? Would you mind sharing a picture of what he looks like now? This new batch of little guys is ready to go home at the end of April. I'm super excited!

Have a good one!

Just to plug Peach Tree: Alex is a consummate professional! He produces awesome chameleons, and takes great care of his babies! You won’t be disappointed!
