out all day!

My Pete (3,5 months) wants to get out of his enclosure all day long. If I walk into the room where his enclosure is, he is down by the door and he scratches the glass . He also climbs towards me when I am in the room. Before he was scared or stressed out when he saw me.

He has a nice, very well planted enclosure, also large for one animal. Lots of branches. Good temp and humidity.

It is true that he is much tamer these days, but is this normal?

I have a new picture of Pete. It also looks like his casque is growing a bit crooked.. Can it be a sign of MBD?
I dust all of his food with MinerAll indoor and calcium 2.0 every feeding..

Animal doesnt look to have mbd. Limbs look straight. Need to start dusting with plain calcium at most feedings. Use the minerall indoor 1x a week at most. I personally use it 2x a month And i use herptivite vit dust 1 x a month. Rest of time I use plain calcium. You can begin to cut back on the supps a bit when they get over 1 yr in age. As you will need to begin feeding every other day most likely.

Ah so you have a friendly cham too? My Mia is just as friendly, she bangs her crest on the door and scratches to be out. If she had her way she would be out 24/7, if i don't let her out she goes to her basking spot to sulk, all puffed up given me the stink eye. Chameleons really are little brats, lol. Her cage is just under 5ft and full of branches and live plants, her temps are perfect but she still wants out, been like that from the day i got her. We shouldn't moan really, better than having a mean cham. Enjoy your Pete he is very handsome!

Chams LOVE to be out of their cage and once they learn that YOU are the link to getting outside of the cage, they will LOVE to see YOU! Can you imagine what would happen to your chams personality if you free ranged him/her 24/7? The cham would turn into a puppy dog, no kidding! Research it, you will find AMAZING stories about chameleon's personalities when Free ranging.

Thank y'all for the replies! I have all kinds of 'trees' in the kitchen haha, large Figs, Schefflera and Pachira. He loves to sit on there.. and I guess he is just beginning to like me! I just hope it stays this way. Once he reaches puberty, maybe it will all change, I hope not!

I'm jealous. Mine is still scared of me. I can't wait for him to be personable. What were your actions around him that made him that way?

Uhm I guess handling him very gently and be around him a lot. I have a room in my house for my reptile pets. So I am often in there, cleaning up and feeding.

Also, when he was aggressive or defensive to me, I never pull out my hand, I also never retract when he bit me.

I have Pete since he was 2 months old, just 10 cm big. I also hand feed him a lot.
