Our new baby

We went to the reptile expo today and couldn't resist. They said he is a 4 month old Ambanja Panther. We have a name in mind but are still trying to find one that is perfect. Any ideas? Now to get him all set up. We almost bought a Mellers, but settled on a panther.

P.S. These are his pissed off colors, at the expo he was actually good looking with greens and blues already.

One question. We are thinking we can just add a nozzle to our mistking that we have for our Jackson's. Will the panther be ok with misting 4 times a day for 5 minutes (that is the current schedule for our Jackson's)?

Yep he'll be fine with your schedule. Probably enjoy the longer mistings.

As long as there drainage and nice air flow.

That should be fine. Just make sure he is drinking when the mister goes off. If not you might make a raindome out of the nozzel instead of misting the inside of the cage. I find panthers will drink from a drip more often than misting on leaves once they reach 4-5 months. As babies I always mist the baby bins so they can lick the droplets off the leaves.
Nice pick-up! I look forward to seeing him grow.

Got his cage set up. I think we will name him George O'saurus. He hissed at me when I moved him in to his new cage, but I am hoping that is just because he has had a stressful day. I hope he turns out to be friendly.

I havent seen him drink yet, but this morning he ate 9 crickets and 1 roach. And my boy Rex ended his hunger strike and ate some roaches as well. :D

Welcome to the family George. A very nive new baby indeed. Guess Rex figured he better eat before the food was gone, just don't tell him you could feed the whole county.:) The sleeping picture makes George look so sweet and peaceful, hope he is like that when he is awake.

Haha, yeah Rex better eat up, this little boy is hungry! Ate 9 crickets and 3 roaches. He keeps looking at the bowl so i think he might eat more later. He drank a bunch today too! Yay!

What a handsome guy!! I think you should call him "Gorgeous George"! Have fun with him and can't wait to see his "I'm happy" colors!!

He is a freaking beast! He has already eaten 20 crickets and 3 roaches today. He also drinks like crazy when ever I mist the cage.
