On the floor?

i know this is my second thread in like two days but i’m getting a little worried again. kiwi has been on the floor of her cage most of yesterday and it’s continued into today. she isn’t at the age of egg laying yet and i’m just worried. but maybe it’s nothing? i don’t know.

she’s upgraded. i haven’t gone out and gotten a new bulb for my long lamp yet but here it is

You need height in that cage... Think live plant like a dwarf umbrella or ficus... All her area is on the floor. While I do not know how that cage will work out for you with her I will say it is going to be small for her when she gets big.

Why add the egg crates? Just shake the crickets in if your free feeding.

As far as baby... Her eyes are not showing signs of dehydration... Anything else with her will be hard to tell. She may be on the floor because the cage is not set up correctly for a chameleon. Could be temperature issues. Could be the higher UVB bulb... I am leaning more toward the way the cage is set up though. She is very exposed which very little climbing or hiding areas.

No hun. Go with a live plant... It will be soooo much better for the chameleon. So if your height of the cage is say 30 inches. you need a plant that will take up 20 inches of space with the pot. So that there is 10 inches of air between the top where the uvb light is and top of the plant. This way they do not get overexposed to UVB.

Good investments... I guess is up to you, because I think you'd be incorporating them more for you than for your cham (not that there's anything wrong with that... ). Personally, I'd put the money toward a good climbing plant or tree, or something more "natural" for a cham habitat, but that's me.

Maybe it's just me, but anything not typically found in a rain forest (aside from a hygrometer, feeder, and misting nozzle) ain't goin' in my enclosure.​

... But that's just me. ​

See the thing is they are tree dwelling animals. They do not naturally hang out on the ground. But with your cage their is nothing of height or coverage. I think that would really help.

I see I’m the pictures it looks like you have dirt as substrate and it seems you free range her food. Dirt and really any kind of loose bedding like moss and coconut fibers can be ingested and cause impactions. It would probably be best to remove the dirt and or cup feed her so she doesn’t accidentally eat dirt when hunting.
