Not the best thing to wake up to D:

So i woke up this morning, i got Philip on my hand and i noticed...
uh oh...
he has something on the front of his mouth..its black and it doesn't look good
ill post some pictures..tell me what you think

I agree - it's hard to see, exactly, but it almost looks like a bruise or burn. Was he resting near his basking spot recently, with his chin near the lamp? Sometimes the netting in the cage can get warm and burn them a bit. Kukui burned his casque a while back and it was because the heat lamp fell onto the top of his cage during the day and warmed up the netting and he had his head near the top of it.

I've only seen mouth rot once and it didn't quite look like that - it was more inside the mouth than not.

he does hang out around the basking light i have one on both sides of the cage (i had to do a weird setup compared to my last one due to lack of room ontop of the cage :/) ill go feel around on the net right now, thanks for the quick responses!

I agree with the bruise. Both Hoj and I are dealing with mouth rot and I don't believe that is what you are seeing. But take a look inside his mouth to be sure. I am 89% positive you are ok.

i just checked on him while he was sleepin it looks much better on the outside

Looks like a regular nose rub. Shouldn't be a problem unless he does it regularly.
