Night time temp

So I’ve had pascal for 3-4 months at this point and he looks fine and healthy, but my question is about the night time temperature requirements. I know it’s supposed to be at around mid 60’s because he’s a veiled chameleon but I can only get it to 70-71 degree. So my question is: is this bad for him and should I take emergency action to make the temp lower, or is it ok and should I just leave things as they are?

I had this same question a week or so ago. Summer is here and the back of my house where my Cham is doesn’t have the best airflow to get the cold air back there. A guy in Florida said to me that low to mid 70s is all he can get down toand they thrive. The important thing is to not have too high of humidity if temps are in the 70s still. I got an indoor evaporative air cooler that uses water to cool the air down and it adds humidity too. Around 10pm I can open my window and have it blow in my room and I can get down do mid 60s easy now, as long as the house doesn’t heat up to much during the day time.

Do you have air conditioning? I have central air. So during the day I have it set to 73f. Around 11pm it automatically goes to 70f. This setup works to get Spikes enclosure to around 66f. This works for me because his enclosure is right next to a vent that push that cool air.

If you have central air, or even an AC unit in the window, you could play with it like this and see if that works for you. If you only have fans, I suggest you either do not use a fogger, and just mist, or get a window unit.

I believe your temps are fine at night, but only IF You aren't using a fogger (You want to be 68f or below IIRC...that's the bar I use personally). On nights where my temps aren't going down if its really hot, I simply disable my fogger before 1am when it is set to turn on.

I believe you should be fine if you aren't using a fogger. However, you definitely want to be 68f or below if you want to use the fogger from what I remember. Maybe someone more experienced can chime in.

Personally, even if I can't use my fogger (which does happen as sometimes it stays hot and muggy in NJ at night), Spike is totally fine (but he's also a Panther). Sometimes his humidity only gets into the high 60s/70s when this happens. I just make sure to watch his hydration overall and make sure he's usually getting the 80-100%. I especially worry less if I have silkworms to feed him as they help hydration.

And keep in mind, you can ALWAYS run a dripper, or do what I do during the day after those nights that your hydration might not be on point: Simply use your misting system to spray your enclosure for a few seconds. Sometimes I do this and Spike will drink. But make sure you do NOT do this unless you are confident your enclosure gets nice and dry pretty quickly. I would NOT do this if I had issues with his branches drying off. Again, I only spray for a few seconds and see if he drinks. If he does, I'll wait a bit and spray it again, just to make sure he gets enough. But then that's it. No more misting until 7pm for me.

Ok thank you so much!!!! I do the same thing with the spraying for a few seconds just in case he wants tl drink and I will definitely set up a dropper. And k can certainly turn off the Fogger.
