new slow-motion tongueshot videos

this is not my highspeedcamera. A friend of mine, a biologist, does films for TV-Stations etc. - He owns it. This camera costs more than 10'000$. The high-speed-memory (about 4GB/sec) to save the data and the stabilized spotlights with 800W each is extremely expensive, too.
It was not easy for us to do the shots because the setting is big and heavy. You cannot move the camera during the shots, but these chameleons are quite nervious.
It was a PhantomFlex Camera.

Im used to working in a studio like setting as I took 3 years of Television Production, and have the lights and such available to me. I'm just looking for a nice high speed camera in my budget.

I'd love to be able to shoot slow motion videos of my chameleons. Yours is just awesome.

Wow they were some amazing shots, i did'nt think it was possible to see something that moved so fast in such slow motion!! i really like the look of your setup, do you happen to have anymore pictures? :)

LOL! Some of those really were funny! Those first two where the tongue missed the insect but adhered to the plant were hilariously awkward. :D Thanks for sharing and fantastic vivarium!

Nice videos. I really need to take the time and use our color high speed camera to get some artistic shots like that. All my time has been on more clinical shots I can get data from but it would be fun to get some nice visually appealing shots. The only ones I've done were of toads eating insects off of sundew leaves.
