So I have good news guys, well kind of. Definitely an improvement. Neptune is currently eating on his own. Only superworms and a random corn worm ride a long my mother found on an ear of organic corn tonight from our farmer's market and was so wonderful to call me and asked if I wanted to feed it to anyone (gotta love her <3). But he's eaten about 5 small superworms on his own and 1 corn worm grub on his own the last few days. When I offer dubia he of course is one of those boys who looks at me like I am a weirdo. And currently he's thin enough where I am not too picky with what he eats. I may buy some crickets and he will finally force me start my cricket colony early XD. I have some surinam roaches (which my colony is doing well but I can't feed tons from it) that I think he would do well with, I will have to test it tomorrow.
I was right though, he cannot use his tongue at all, he climbs in his cup, and touch his tongue to it and bites down on the insect. He didn't get liquid calcium today because I was testing insects, but he got repashy calcium plus. I was trying to figure out what he was eating and didn't want to stress him during it. But he is doing amazingly well considering he hasn't gone to the vet and gotten a shot which most people do immediately. He got liquid calcium, we talked about a plan, and I have kept her updated. Otherwise, it's been nutrition, liquid calcium, other necessary supplements, and natural uvb (and of course hydration). He's been loving living the life, and still is able to keep a frown the entire time <3 little grumpy royal butt. I would usually take a picture of him eating but as soon as he sees me the paranoia is practically palpable.
