New Meller's, Charlotte

Olimpia

Biologist & Ecologist
Introducing the third and final member (for now) of my little melleri group. I got this "girl" from a fellow forum member last week and have just been waiting for her to relax enough to get a few nicer photos of her where she's not dark forest green.

Here she is outside enjoying some sunshine and some misting. She comes in at 231 grams, so she's my mid-sized Meller's (still only half as heavy as Guinevere!)

And even her lobes are scalloped! How cool is that?

She has some nails on her, let me tell you! I haven't had to use gloves on anyone else for almost a year, but she's turned my left arm into what looks like a well-used scratching post!

Olimpia she is just gorgeous!!!! It's amazing those tiny little arms can hold her up on that vine. Are mellers limbs usually that dainty or are you going to bulk them up ? :)

She (?) is very pretty! :) I love seeing all of your photos of your group- Meller's are fascinating chams!

Thank you! They are, they're really cool.

Thanks Lisa! I know! lol They do bulk up a little bit, once they're really full grown. Guinevere's arms are much bulkier, and she's 4 years old. But they do tend to have those dainty little arms for a while as they reach full-grown size!

Aww how cute is she?! Very nice Olimpia. I always love seeing your chameleons :D I sure hope to get a more exotic chameleon like this or a parsonii one day. They are so fascinating and beautiful.

I just love Mellers, so I love seeing your photos! Maybe for my cham... But that will be a long ways off.

How certain do you feel on gender? As someone who keeps Mellers, do you have a sixth sense for it?

I'm sure you'll have her in tip top shape in no time! Once again she's just beautiful! I think I'm getting a Melleri fixation!!!

Another question,,, just got to wondering, any significance of giving her the name "Charlotte"???? ;)

She is amazing! Congratulations on your new beautiful girl. :)

Thank you!

Thank you! Parson's are really majestic and beautiful (and smooth!) but there's something about these big green guys that draws me. Plus, in Florida it's really way too warm to keep Parson's as cool as they would like, so they're not practical without tripling my electricity bill.

Thank you! They're really cool, you just need space!
I don't want to set myself up for ridicule later when I'm wrong about everyone, but I do feel like I get little signs. The shape of their bodies, their colors, behavior with each other, etc. Right now I have 1 confirmed female and 2 unknowns (perhaps one of each) but I haven't gotten any confirmation yet.

But I have my suspicions that Charlotte may even be brewing eggs, so if she lays that will definitely be a confirmation!

Thanks Lisa! She's in pretty great shape though, it's just hard to tell how old/young she may be. But her head and face are nice and plump, so I know her previous owner did a great job. But who knows if she's another year or two from really reaching her maximum size.

And yes, I did name her in honor of the other little Charlotte.

Put my name on one of the her babies when she lays.

Once I have my green house running I'd love to keep a trio free range.
