My vivarium project!

Because I'm a sucker for punishment, I decided to design and build a 55 long half wet half false bottom dry vivarium with a waterfall rock wall. I'm still unsure of what the inhabitants will be! Butis the progress so far...

The cork round and net pots are in place, starting with foaming it-

More pics soon, I think I'm at the max for pics on one message!

The fun part, carving and painting all of the dry side is done! I built airline tubing into the net pots for drainage, they run down into the false bottom which is egg crate. I have a few net pots that slide in and out so I can access the bio balls in the bottom. 20161021_010600.jpg 20161020_230522-1.jpg

I was at a loss as to how I should get a decent waterline without the seal showing on the front of the glass, a mix of clear silicone and moss seemed to work well. It's watertight at least! And the foam is carved on the waterline side.

Have you decided what your going to put in it yet?
No idea yet! I'm leaning towards a dart frog tank, but cresteds or day geckos are tempting too. I have a waterfall wall and about 2 gallons of water built in, so between that and it being a long tank my options are a little bit limited for the lizards so I'm leaning towards frogs. Any suggestions are soooooo welcome!

Finished the hardscaping!!! I still have to let it off gas for a while and trim down the waterfall tubing, but I'm pretty tickled with the results so far!
