Hey Everyone,
So the Mellers I rescued from weeks ago is doing great. Vet checked ok, no parasites at this time will recheck in 2 weeks. I upgraded his enclosure, and ever since doing that he has been very cranky. I never really handled him a lot before, but even he was happy to be misted, would eat out of my hands ect. Now he is not having any of it. He has been in this new space for a week, maybe he just needs time? He actually spit a cricket out in front of me.....What gives
Thanks

Change is deeply upsetting to them. Cranky is to be expected after a cage change.

Also, it takes about three months for the entire acclimation process of melleri. As soon as the average WC starts to feel physically better, it will show normal defensive behavior (what you are seeing), then a while longer to emotionally settle down. It can't be absolutely sure that you won't suddenly eat it... not yet.

Maybe the cricket tasted wrong? Have you switched gutload ingredients? What kind of "wet" veggies or fruits are you using?

I think the cage change is the cause for the attitude, but more details about its care (see the How to Ask for Help sticky) would be helpful.
