My Greenhouse Trioceros Quadricornis Gracilior

[Motherlode Chameleon]

I have been under the radar with this one for months now. However I picked up a male Trioceros quadricornis gracilior. Trioceros quadricornis quadricornis has always been one of my preferred species to work with and keep from out on the ranch house. Now that I have got a greenhouse and many people on the Chameleon Forums are breeding this species (lines of captive bred species should be available) I figured it was time to jump back one the Trioceros quadricornis, this time Trioceros quadricornis graciilor bandwagon. These are some pictures of my male Trioceros quadricornis gracilior.

My gracilior female is laying eggs at this exact moment. Jeremy almost bought her a few weeks ago. She's a beauty.

Carl Cattau, and myself as far as I know. I believe he ended up with the pair Laurie/Perry erroneously started out with. My female succumbed but left me with a retained clutch which I'm hoping three are good, fertile eggs. Sam at backwater had some also but I'm not sure if he continued working with them or not. How about you, Jeremy, do you have a female? It'd be nice to know whose working with them if we're lucky enough to necessitate bloodline exchanges. Come out, come out wherever you are.

There are not as much as the standard Quads Trioceros quadricornis quadricornis. I know of some people that are keeping and working with this subspecies though.

I did and I may yet buy her. I have got a scheduling problem and have to build some new enclosures first for the chameleons I have got before I can buy more chameleons for now.

Sam has got a wall of incubating eggs!! Later this year most of you may want to call him for extra captive bred babies of multiple species.

Great to hear the Quadricornis group is doing good. Laurie your buddy Chuck G has Trioceros quadricornis graciliors. Is he part of your Quadricornis group?

I am happy to hear you have a quad, doesn't matter what kind, you can't go wrong with a quad.

Yes, I have a pair of graciliors from the February import.

They are both doing very well. The female laid a clutch of 14 two months ago. This thread prompted me to look at the eggs and 12 look good so far. The female is gravid again and weighs 6g more yesterday than she did when she laid two months ago, but she doesn't look anywhere near ready to lay.

I have not introduced her to my male. All her eggs are from a breeding or breedings that happened in the wild. I won't introduce them until she is not producing fertile eggs.

I really love my male gracilior. He is just such a pretty and elegant lizard.

Thanks Big Time!!! A greenhouse for chameleons was an accomplished goal of mine since before 1995. I am good to say I am privileged enough to own one.
