Hello everyone :)

My name is Cori, and I just got my new reptile friend yesterday! She is a veiled chameleon and a few months old, though i don't know exactly how many. I am so excited! I hope to make a lot of friends :)

Welcome Cori, I am sure you will be meeting lots of great people here. Chameleons are so rewarding!

Welcome to the forum Cori, you came to the right place to learn and talk about chams. :)
Did you buy her at a pet store?

Welcome to the forums Cori! Congrats on your new chameleon. She is a little cutie! I keep veileds and they eat lots of STUFF so you have to be very careful about what you have in their reach or they can eat it and become impacted. To me it looks like something on the bottom of her enclosure that she could eat.

I have a few blogs attached to help you keep your little girl healthy and happy.

Hi Poet! I also have a new Veiled. I'm following this thread with you and have already learned so much. I'm glad you posted. I look forward to learning with you and our chameleons growing together. Thanks JannB that was a wealth of info. Both of our babies are going to be better off because of your info.

I'll post a pic of mine later today.

Thank you so much for all the info! That picture was actually taken at the petstore where yes, she has coconut fiber bedding. But at her new place at my house I just didn't put any substrate down. So no impact ion worries :) thank you so much for all the kind greetings ^_^

this is her current set up.

I know it is very big for her size and I have been contemptible taking her out of the cage and putting her Ina critter keeper to feed. Is this a good or bad idea?

I would definitely not take her out of her enclosure to feed. That will surely stress her out! If you're concerned about her not being able to find pray in a large enclosure, try cup feeding her. Just place a cup that's high enough that the food can't jump out and place it near her. She'll learn quickly where to find her food :)
