male vs female

hello everyone.

I have been looking at the prices panther chameleons go for and i can't help but wonder why is it that the males cost so much more than the females ? usually its the other way around with most animals.

also I am currently trying to decide between a chameleon or an ackie's monitor ? do you have any specific reason why i should go with one over the other ?

males cost more because they have more color, and people dont want to deal with egg laying from females.

and chams are awesome! swivel eyes, long tongues, crazy colors.

Frank, go to screameleons.com, they only have panther chameleons, and it's the place I found it easiest to learn about the variety of panther colours, plus they have wonderful care videos.

ok jaja those sound like good reasons.

that website is were i checked the prices and noticed to huge difference, I had a feeling it might have to do with color but i thought panther females were also colorful.

panther girls all look the same from local to local.

all in various shades of pink, peach, tan, brown, etc. with some small patches of lavender, red, green, and blue.

the males get all the big bright colors.

my two new hoehnelli babies cruise everywhere in their little cage.

my adult female hoehnelli likes to mosey from spot to spot to bask.

my adult male hoehnelli is the same.

my male panther. same thing.

and then the 2 veileds, some days they cruise everywhere, other days they love to just sit and bask.
