So I heard chameleons only will drink moving water and not from a dish. I just got my chameleon and saw him walk up to the dish and slurp up the water.. I do have "the little dipper" drip tube, but he drinks dim the dish that catches the water.. Is this wired??

yes its weird...lol... and may be potentialy dangerous. if the dish is big enough he or she may fall in and drown or get bacteria from standing water

Better take out the bowl. Chams are very sensitive to environmental impact. As said before: bacteria in standing water can be very dangerous.

Well... what kind of dish are we talking about here? I would have a hard time seeing a chamelon fall into a typical reptile watering dish and drown- especially if you have some vines drooping down near it.

Some chameleons do drink from standing water. I have known a few people that have told me they had chameleons that did. I don't think this is their typical behavior. Jasonmichaelborg's suggestion that you be mindful of bacterial buildup is probably a good idea. Change the water periodically.

Just my thought

When I bought my Jackson's girl in the store before they boxed her out she was gulping a drink from her water bowl!!! I wonder if I put a small bowl in there now if she'll drink out of a bowl again. This will help alleviate my stress over whether or not she's getting enough "rain" to drink from... hmmmm.

And there is nothing wrong with that! Everyone is paranoid about the Cham being harmed about this topic. As long as you replace the water daily and your cage is clean.. That's 100% perfect fine. Don't be pressured about people's opinions.
