love bug invasion

I live in FL and this happens two times a year. You might think it was a plague but its not, 100000s of them ready to kill your paint job. Can i feed them to my cham? Any thoughts on this as he loves winged things lol. Also any one have a list or link on what winged things are safe for chams that i would find out side.I know of flies already. Thanks

you can feed moths, dragon flies. be careful of butterflies. Stay away from the brightly colored ones and the striped ones like the swallow tails. I think it is a no on the love bugs. I am not sure though. I live in FLA too and I think I remember before someone saying no and definitely a no on lady bugs also. I would also hesitate on bees and wasps for the risk of getting stung. I am sure they eat stuff like that in the wild though and survive. was just reading about them and they say they are quite acidic. I don't think I would feed them and maybe the chameleon would not even like the taste then.

moths huh ill keep an eye out for some thanks. what would be the diff between butterflies and moths i know what they look like just whats the diff in diet they both have big wings i feel like. Any one have any other things i might find when i am out side just some thing to do thanks.

if you can catch dragon flies. My chameleons love them.. The moths you are gonna find at night time as opposed to the day of course. Sometimes you can find them in the day sitting on the walls of your house.There are butterflies called painted ladies which I know are safe to feed. You willhave to google and find out what they look like. I have only fed the small white butterflies. I am always paranoid about any of the others. Honestly, I don't know the nutritional value of moths vs butterflies. I just know when it gets warm out they are easy to catch and they are safe to feed and the chams seem to like them flying around in the cage.
