Live plants

Schefflera arbicola, one of the more common types of umbrella tree, is commonly used for chameleons. As are golden pothos and Benjamin Ficus. They are all generally safe to use.

However, some Veileds really like to chow on the plants. All three of these do have irritating saps and chemicals, so if your cham is a plant eater, you'll want to take them out. Most keepers don't have too much issue with this, but it's something you will want to watch out for.

Hibiscus trees are another option if you have a lot of light. The hibiscus are safe and veileds readily eat the flowers. I did find that the hibiscus puts out a lot of pollen - bad for allergy sufferers.

My veiled chams love eating hibiscus, but I can't keep those plants alive well at all. The dwarf umbrella plants work great in my panther enclosures and are very hardy and easy to keep alive.
