It has taken almost a year since he was 3 months old, but lightning my male panther has now started to let me pick him up to take him outside. By let i mean not trying to bite my face off. Honestly I think a little has to do with him seeing me take Sally outside and wondering where i took her. Also a lot of working with hand feeding and putting my hand in his cage next to branches for extended periods of time. Also it made my wife happy because he finally crawled on her hand from my hand, she has held Sally many of times to go outside, but never lightning in the whole past year.
I guess what I'm trying to say is if you have a mean chameleon don't give up he may come around (or she). It feels nice to be able to take him outside to enjoy the sun.... Without feeling like he's going to kill me.
