laying box?

have been told that my veiled chameleon is gravid and due to lay soon how big a box of moist sand shold i put in at present i have in a box that about 8 inches heigh 12 inches long by 6 inches wide is this big enough

It need to be deeper......at lease 12 inches deep and fill with washed play sand. The sand needs to be moist so when she digs it want cave in on her.

I have to agree with jannb. 12" deep is ideal. She may dig in 8" but play it safe and make it deeper for her. They will dig pretty far if you let them, but the deeper you make it the depper she could go. Then it can get difficult locating the eggs.

it is washed playsand but am struggling to get any more at present as most shops have none in

could i mix anything else with it ?

i use a mix of playsand/eco-earth mix in my laying buckets,argos normally have lots of playsand in this time of year.
