Whether you decide to use tap water or not will probably depend on the water source. If you are in a city that provides municipal water safe for human consumption it should be fine. If you have your own tested well and it's also considered safe, again OK. Is your tap water hard? Do you see mineral deposits on showers, sinks, etc? Most water in CO is going to be pretty hard (high in calcium and other minerals). It won't hurt your cham directly, but is a hassle to keep foggers, plants, mister nozzles, etc clear. You can filter the water, buy RO water, or clean everything with vinegar periodically.
The other thing to consider when using tap water is what the city adds to it...chlorine, chloramines, fluorides, etc. Your water utility should be able to tell you. Chlorine is easy to get rid of...fill a bucket and leave it out overnight. The chlorine will dissipate on its own. For chloramines or other treatment chemicals you may need to treat it with something for aquariums or herps.
