Every time his under the heat lamp , his colors get really dark , im not sure if this is normal or not . Can you guys help me with this . I got 75W heat lamp . and when i get close to him his real colors come back .

well its around 75 but he also has real sun light on him too , witch is really good for him . thanks for the help :D

i feel much better now , cuz i only see him mornings and nights when his sleeping . today i left work early , so it was my first time seeing him like this and i start to trip out . i got him like a week ago .

if the suns coming in through the window he isnt really benefiting from it uvb-wise. there shouldnt be any glass or plastic between the cham and the uvb light source, so hopefully you have a uvb light over his tank. if so then disregard this :)

yeah, as long as hes dark only when under his light hes just basking. its cute catching my cham basking when she flattens up and turns towards the sun. shes like a chameleon pancake :)

yes i do have 5.0 reptisun UVb tube ,and there is no glass or plastic between the sun and my veiled cham :D

i got 75w bulb and 100w bulb , but a lot of ppl told me to get 60w . so wich one is good for my veiled . the cage size is 4ft by 2ft .screen cage . and the closest branch i got to the bulb is about 8".

Hopefully you have a digital thermometer with a probe so you can measure the exact temperature.

Exactly as Julirs said. She knows a lot!

Guessing what light bulb to use is like a crap shoot without a digital thermometer to tell you what the actual temps are at the basking spot.
