My 6 week old cham ate a house fly today and didn't know if it was okay for him to eat it without making himself sick.

He should be fine as long as you haven't used pesticides in the area. I normally use my chameleons as a "fly swatter" at my house. They are more acurate than I am.

I had that same idea during class today

But do keep this in mind...

unless you have raised the fly and fed it a healthy diet, well, just think of where you usually see flies - on crap, and/or dead animals. Occasionally is OK, but don't make it a habit. You can buy fly larvae online and feed them in that stage as well as letting them pupate into flies, then you know they are safe;)
