Injecting Liquid Calcium into Feeders

So I have to give Ryker liquid calcium for a bit, but he's much harder to give it to than Hope is. I have insulin syringes for my cat, but I have to give Ryker .4 cc of liquid calcium, however I am not sure if that would be the same in a U40 insulin syringe. Any vets out there that can help? And would I inject only soft bodied feeders? Would I inject the entire amount?

I usually just give them a couple of drops. All my chameleons have liked it. It taste like honey. I normally drip a couple drops on their nose and they lick it right off.

If this is the first time you try it on a particular cham, maybe getting that cham into its drinking mode first would make it more likely that it will lick the drops, then decide it likes the taste.

Yes this is the first time I have tried it on him. I will try dripping it on his nose next time. Hopefully he will accept it more easily then.

Are you sure the vet wants you to give .4cc? That seems like a lot.

Yeah she does. Ryker has what could be the start of MBD though we aren't quite sure so we want to head it off until I can afford to do more tests. He weighs at 195 grams (underweight at the moment and working to fix that now that he's been treated for parasites and has a better feeder cup) I am hoping to get him up to 250 grams which is where he was at earlier.

My Jackson Hope is getting .1cc she weighs 65 grams and only 3x a week.

Edit: Do you think I should reduce the amount I am giving to him?

No, I think you should follow your vet's advice. I keep forgetting there are chameleons bigger than mine!

XD It's just a pain in the butt trying to get him to take it .____. makes me so frustrated sometimes. He gives me a look like a toddler does when your trying to feed them something healthy even though it tastes good.
